Happy New Year....

Gee, Happy New Year to me....let's end 2005 - a wacky and stress filled year - on a perfect note - with a jury duty summons in the mail box. Yep...that's how one hell of a year has ended. I guess it's suffice to say I'm glad 2005 is coming to a close...and February 7th most likely will not be fun....

Bio

I am a K-5 Technology Teacher in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools in North Carolina. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Middle Childhood. I have a BS in Child Development and a M.Ed. in Elementary Education, both from UNC-Greensboro. This is my twentieth year in education. In the past, I have taught grades 2, 3, 4 and 5. I am in the process of completing an add-on licensure in the area of Instructional Technology, something I started almost 9 years ago, but let fall by the wayside while spending some years dealing with some family illnesses and taking on the task of becoming a homeowner.

Currently, I am in my second year working in a high poverty school that is in the process of transformation. My duties include serving as a teacher leader providing professional development in technology and instructional support with using technology to my colleagues in this school in addition to teaching K-5 technology classes to students. This is my fourth year serving as a technology teacher.

I live just outside Greensboro with my dog, Noelle, who is the source of many comical stories and the cause of a few household soap operas. I spend a lot of time with my significant other, Dwayne, following his soon to be eleven year old daughter to softball fields all over North Carolina for traveling tournaments. I love to travel and have visited 28 of our 50 states and am currently planning a trip to Alaska in 2015.
